Need AC Repair?
Try our Troubleshooting Tips
- Reset your circuit breaker. Sometimes a tripped circuit in your house is the cause of an AC shutting down and not being able to turn back on. Locate your circuit breaker. Move the switch attached to your AC to ‘Off,’ wait a few seconds, and then flip the switch back to the ‘On’ position. Finally, wait patiently for up to 30-45 minutes for the AC to resume its cooling.
- Set your thermostat to your desired temperature. This may seem obvious but sometimes your thermostat may set to ‘Off’ or on the wrong setting. Make sure your thermostat is set to ‘Cool.’ If you have scheduled cooling or use remote control settings like on an app, check all settings to ensure your AC is operating as expected.
- Make sure your filter is free of dirt and debris. A helpful tip is to jot down the date you last replaced the filter directly on it, or use your monthly bill as a reminder
